Teamwork and Collaborative Care

A team is a collection of individuals who are interdependent in their tasks but share responsibility for outcomes. Effective teamwork improves the quality of patient care, enhances patient safety, and reduces workload issues that cause burnout among healthcare professionals.
Collaborative Care is the provision of comprehensive health services to patients by multiple health care professionals who work collaboratively to deliver the best quality of care. It encompasses partnership, collaboration and a multi-disciplinary approach to enhancing care outcomes.

Task shifting occurs both in countries facing shortages of physicians and those not facing shortages.
